HTML sites
Standard HTML sites are a terrific way to deliver information to your visitors that doesn't change regularly. These sites are very popular and while their capabilities in terms of what they can do for you in a business sense are limited, they are often a cost effective solution to creating your web presence.
Content can be updated on these sites when required by manually editing the pages we create for you. We provide training to clients, teaching them to edit their pages themselves or we are happy to take on this responsibility for you.
Dynamic data driven sites
For sites that need to store and/or display large amounts of data in a useful, easy to manage fashion you should consider a database driven web site. This is where a great deal of the information displayed on the site is actually stored in a database, where it is retrieved when necessary. This approach has many advantages over traditional static HTML pages such as:
- Information on your web site can be searched, sorted and filtered much more easily by your visitors so they can find exactly what they want as quickly as possible.
- Updates and additions can be performed by you via a simple form based system so there is no need for expensive software to do this, any standard web browser will do.
- Your site can be updated by you as and when necessary, day or night. You don't have to wait for someone to update it for you.
- Visitor supplied information can be securely remembered by the site and content can be tailored to an individual's preferences.

Site re-designs
Protomatter also accept commissions on re-design works. If your site is looking a little tired or old or hasn’t been adjusted for a couple of years, we will totally redesign it around your current content, or even change that too, if required. It could be the case that your site has outgrown its original purpose, and now needs extra features, functions or sections.
